Man United play Fletcher, Carrick and Giggs in midfield and these 3 players don’t really attack enough and look like scoring. Carrick is useless as part of a 2 man midfield as he never makes runs into the box. In this formation he wouldn’t need to as he would just need to break up play and give the ball to Anderson and Cleverley who are much more dynamic with the ball.
At the start of the season the front 5 I picked + Welbeck were linking up fantastically and playing really good football. Then Cleverley got injured and it has been downhill after that.
The way the team is playing this year the fact that they got to the Champions League final last year was an amazing achievement.
